Transportation in Chicago
Both airports are easily accessible by public transportation, but note that there is a lot of construction on the CTA train system so please check www.transitchicago.com for updates. In some cases, it may cause delays. We will also have some sign-up sheets for rides available at each venue.
When traveling around the city, Chicagoans are generally pretty friendly and helpful, but Chicago is a large city and wherever you go it is important that you be careful. Be aware of your surroundings whether you are walking or in a car and if going anywhere by public transportation when you are not familiar with the area, we suggest traveling in groups.

Evening Dance - Irish Heritage Center

The Irish American Heritage Center is one of the premiere Irish cultural organizations in the United States. It is a destination for people of Irish descent as well as those who wish to learn more about the Irish heritage. Located on the city's northwest side in a renovated, turn-of-the-20th century building that sprawls over a full city block, the IAHC is dedicated to fostering Irish heritage, culture and traditions in America.
The Center boasts a 658-seat theatre, library, museum, art gallery, authentic Irish pub, dance practice studios, meeting rooms and banquet rooms for parties.
Traveling from the North
Travel on I-90 E and take exit 84 for Lawrence Ave toward 4800 N Turn left at W Lawrence Ave for about 1/2 a mile and turn right at N Kilpatrick Ave. Turn left at W Wilson Ave - 341 ft and turn left at N Knox Ave - 400 ft Building is located on the left hand side
Traveling from the South
Take the I-90 W/I-94 W. Veer right and take the Edens Expy/I-94 exit toward Milwaukee Take exit 43A for Wilson Ave toward 4600 N. Turn right at W Wilson Ave and left at N Knox Ave Building is located on the left hand side
Public Transit
Take the subway - BLUE LINE to Montrose stop. Head North to 4626 N. Knox. It is about 3 blocks from the train station which is approximately a 5 min walk.
Late Night - The Galaxie

Galaxie Chicago is a multi-use facility where working artists and students of the arts can interact and inspire each other with their love of the arts. Founded in 2006 by a fellow lindy hopper, WCLX used one of the few barely completed rooms that year for some of the late night dances while the rest of the facility was still under construction!! Now that the beautiful performance space has been completed, WCLX will return this year to use this facility for the late night dances on all three nights.
Public Transit
Take the Brown, Red or Blue line train to Belmont. Take the #77 Belmont bus (west from the Brown or Red line, east from the Blue line ), exiting at Rockwell. Walk two blocks south. This bus comes every 10-30 minutes.
Saturday
Evening Dance - IIT - Herman Ballroom

Hermann Hall, affectionately known as the HUB, is IIT's student union. Its McCormick Auditorium plays host to movies, concerts and other special events. It is home to the Center for Multicultural Programs, a campus coffee house, a bowling alley, and the Bog, IIT's campus tavern.

Take I-90/I-94 E. Take exit 54 toward 31st St. Merge onto S Wentworth Ave. Turn left at W 31st St. Turn right at S Federal St. Building is located on the left hand side.
Traveling from the South
Take I-90/I-94 W. Take exit 54 toward 31st St. Merge onto S LaSalle St. Turn right at W 31st St. Take the 1st right onto S Federal St. Building is located on the left hand side.
Public Transit
Take the Green line south heading toward Cottage Grove exiting at 35-Bronzeville-IIT. Head N toward 33rd Street and W towards Federal St. (see map above)

Evening Dance - Willowbrook
8900 South Archer Ave, Willow Springs, IL 60480
Ballroom was built in the 1930s and throughout the years has played host to many great bands from Count Basie and Benny Goodman to Brian Setzer and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. More recently, Willowbrook Ballroom has held a regular Sunday night swing dance for the last 10 years. For the past 4 years, WCLX has also made the Willowbrook Ballroom their location for the Sunday night dance and this year will be no exception. Located in the southwestern suburb of Willow Springs, the Willowbrook Ballroom is another historic venue with a large 6,000 square foot wooden dance floor.
